Here’s our pick of the best beauty looks from the film festival in Cannes, which drew to a close this weekend, and how you can replicate them at home.
Blake Lively — loose braid
At the opening of the festival the American star wore her hair in an over-the-shoulder loose braid. For a similar style, Blogger Kayleigh Noelle pulls all the hair to one side, splits it into three sections, and braids the middle section into a regular braid, pulls it out and messes it up a bit. Then weave this braided section into the two other loose sections and mess it up at the end for a loose look.
Léa Seydoux — blue eyeliner
The French actress rocked stunning blue eyeliner at the ‘Saint Laurent’ premiere and blogger Sharon Farrell has an almost identical look. She starts by applying foundation, concealer and primer, which is set in place with powder. She then adds some light contouring on the cheeks and layers light pink eyeshadow on her lids with a darker colour in the crease. Blue eyeliner, black mascara and gel liner finish off the eye. Pale pink lips top off the look.
Amber Heard — strong lips
On the red carpet for ‘Two Days, One Night,’ Amber Heard didn’t disappoint with her signature hot red lipstick. Check out Lisa Eldridge’s ‘Ultimate Guide’ for the strong red lipstick look. Remember: olive and yellow skins work with more orangey-red lip shades, and bluey-red tones work better with cooler skin colours. Lisa recommends applying with a lip brush and prepping lips before with balm, buffed in with a Q-tip. You can then work the lipstick into to the lips with the brush for longer-lasting colour.
